Hi Tony and Robehouse Been real busy as of late but will get pict/ price for you. Tony forgive me but its been 11 years since I built that nose gear. S N A came out with the hyd steering after I started building my plane.

and I will need to think this out, John, at Planemakers would have all the details. Note, it takes more than just the actuator to make this work. Well worth every penny spent and hour spent installing it. Keith Walljasper N80CC

Hi JR Finally found the hyd ACTUATOR IN MY (*&))% hanger. It is Rotac Actuator MPJ-22-1V 1000psi max. Micromatic Textron Company Berne, Indiana It has never been used or mounted in the plane. Keith 309 530 3097

Tom Saccio | Nose Wheel Steering

I recently wrote that I was having problems with my nose wheel steering. The nose wheeling is moving to the right with me touching the switches. Some of you wrote back saying that it could be dirt hanging up in the valves. If that is the case how do I fix it? Do I have to disassemble the whole manifold to clean it or is there another way? Need help, looking for advice. Tom Saccio

Hi Tom,

I have not had to disassemble the entire manifold, however I did have to remove one of the valves from the manifold to clean the seat three years ago. It's not really that hard, just lots of time.

We are reassembling nose gear after Bill Hayes showed me mods for through bolting at the fork and welding reinforcement at the oleo attachment ears. We've misplaced (or never had) the top cap. Anybody got a drawing? Was it aluminum or bronze? It appears to provide the bearing surface at the top.

I dimly remember an old newsletter about stuffing the annulus with grease and stacks of split o-rings for enhanced damping. Anybody remember this?

What size o-rings? Makes me wonder if two greasy bronze to steel surfaces are enough to do the job

From Bill, I hear that the piston inside the main gear oleo is subject to breaking. Is Evansburg Tool the source for this?

Evansburgh tool is the goto for oleo's. I do not know if the nose actuator and associated parts can be purchased from them also. Please let me know if we can

If anyone has a spare hyd nose gear actuator and parts, please let me know.....L@@King for one.
