Hyd Accumulator

Mike | Hyd Accumulator

Last week I noticed the nose of the plane going up and in turn I was trimming down more than normal to hold the nose down. What’s up with that... It turns out the accumulator must have popped the diaphragm and all the N2 was missing. Yes the pump was cycling more than normal; so I turned off the pump and the NLG dropped a little. Turning on the pump raised the gear and dropped the nose.

Does anyone have an alternate to the original Accumulator? Is the Parker A2N0015D1K still any good as per a post several years ago..?

I ordered the A2N0015D1k from the RG Group, 800-645-1424, 201-934-9354. The $ is 172.00 + shipping.

Installed and working fine with about 300 psi. With 500 psi the gear flies up and down.

Mike, If your gear flies up and down, it sounds like you might not have the flow restrictors that are called for in the hyd system. System pressure is a nominal 1000 psi, so I would check for the restrictors. The sad result of too fast gear operation is that the main gear oleos fly apart, resulting in lotsa bent metal. Ed
