Keith,

For the past few years I have wanted to go to Oshkosh. This year I am going come hell or high water. Actually if it is high water it shouldn't be a problem.... Anyway, I am going thurs, fri, sat. As far as the race goes, I looked into the requirments... They actually want me to add them as an additional insured to my policy...ARE THEY @#^@#^!(^^!@% NUTS..? NOT...!!!!

The new regulation requiring security badges for unescorted persons on the flight line of an airport with commercial service will be in effect by then. How's that going to work at Oskosh ?

Mike Who is your insurance with? Mine is Avemco. I just call them and tell them that Im flying the race and they send out a rider required by EAA and thats it. No cost. The rider limits EAA liability...... Keith

Exactly, The rider limits EAA liability

I have been involved in contracts and insurance additions for the past 20 years. I do NOT like additional insureds!!

An Additional Insured endorsement is just that, the EAA is now a part of your policy and can enjoy all of the same items of your policy as you enjoy. They are added to your policy as a policy holder, an "additional insured".

Adding them will allow them to tap your policy if someone else gets hurt, yes even if you had nothing to do with it.

Whenever you have an additional insured endorsement, you should include on the endorsement something like......"Additional insured as it pertains to any any fault of my own as to the extent of the policy and will not cover any other incidents by other partie(s)". The intent is not to let them tap your policy for someone elses problems.

Well, didn't make it in untill friday Due to the storms. I don't know about anyone else but I don't like flying into storms...anyway, amazing show. If you haven't been there you need to go! On another note, the seawind is an amazing bird. The trip out was flawless, except for the storms and the way back was just as good. The return trip had 2 legs; 1st was about 1.5 hours and the second 3.2 hours. The average ground speed on the way back was 180 knots @ 70% power.
