Does anyone have a EC-100 for sale or know were I might get one repaired .. Vision says they no longer service the EC-100 or have any for sale. JR

Personally I wouldn't touch the EC-100. I sold mine 4 years ago. If you are interested in electronics for the plane, let's talk. I don't claim to be the expert, however i do love electronics.......and keep in touch with the latest gear.

The EM LCD display is old hat. The idea is there, however; there are not a lot of ways to send a signal from a transducer to the display, so it is really all in the software and the quality of the display, the user interface.

Take a look at Electronics International MVP series or the JPI-EDM series.

PS - If you have a EC-100.... what is the problem?

Thanks Mike .. I agree, the VM-1000 system is NOT a system I would recommend however my EC-100 has been working well for 12 years ( 900 flt hrs) until I accidentally zapped it with a hot 12v wire. While conducting some lighting test the test wire hit around the center of the 26 pin connector causing a visible arc. I may have fried the board. The good news is that I found a guy back east (RI) who says he repairs these units and will exchange mine for about $350. It’s not a recommendation but it’s hope. His name is Reggie Smith 401 741-0863 VM-1000 repair guy.

I’m considering a glass panel for my Seawind which will include replacement of the VM-1000 .. but that’s a year or 2 away.
